Sky Orbs - Eco Sky Lanterns |
|
Sky Lanterns known traditionally as Khoom Fay in China were initially used as a military signals in the 3rd Century and strategically launched during war.
They were later adopted and launched alongside fireworks at festivals by local folk, carrying away their troubles as the lantern rose higher bringng prosperity and good luck to the future. Lanterns were also given to Monks in order to receive wisdom, as the flame of the Lantern would guide them to knowledge and the right path.
Today in China these lanterns are still released in the hundreds of thousands at Chinese New Year in hopes of good luck for the coming year. Traditionally Chinese Lanterns are made using a wire to connect the fuel cell to the bamboo base. This could take months to break down and posed a threat to wildlife and farm animals. Sky Orb's lanterns were the first on the market to use a 100% biodegrable fireproof wool to hold the fuel cell on, thus posing no threat to either the environment or wildlife. Sky Orbs Lanterns are unique compared to others.
Thefuel cells are non-drip and easier to light unlike other brands. The wax contained in them is recycled using the discarded candles from Buddhist Temples. The method of holding the fuel cell to the frame has come under much controvesy in the media. Claims that there was a danger to animals eating the wire, although far-fetched, were recorded so Sky Orbs developed a fabric fireproof wool to hold this on, making the lanterns the first 100% biodegradable lanterns on the market. Sky Orbs is the first company to offer printed lanterns with celebration phrases already on, thus avoiding pens puncturing the lantern when users write their own messages.
Sky Orbs are now available throughout the world and are used at many celebrations including birthdays, weddings, christenings and parties.
